Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a medium sized saucepan, add strawberries, lemon juice, 1/3 cup of water and Splenda.
  • Cook over medium heat, bringing to a boil.
  • Reduce the heat and mash to the desired consistency with a potato masher.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and warm water
  • Add the cornstarch mixture to the strawberries and mix well.
  • Simmer for about 5 minutes and then remove the pan from the heat,
  • Allow the sauce tocool for at least 2 hours. The sauce will thicken while cooling.

Notes

  • The final amount of sauce depends on how much you mash the strawberries.
  • Typically, you can expect roughly 1.5 cups of sauce (24 tbsp), containing  1.7grams of net carbs per tbsp. resulting in approximately
