Rinse shrimp under cold water and set aside while you make the sauce.
In a mixing bowl, add all of the sauce ingredients and whisk.
Add the shrimp to the sauce and stir well to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes,
Preheat BBQ or Grill to medium heat.
Thread the shrimp onto the skewers, dividing the shrimp up between 6 skewers.
Place the skewers on a baking tray.
Brush both sides of the shrimp with some of the remaining sauce.
Place skewers onto the grill.
Grill each side for 4 minutes brushing with the remaining sauce when turning over. (or until shrimp is cooked through)
Remove from grill and garnish with cut chives, if desired.
Serve hot.
