Helpful Tips for Success
Choosing popsicle moulds
After using many different kinds of popsicle moulds I think I have finally found one that works with all recipes and is easy to use. The popsicle moulds pictured below have some qualities that make them better than the.
- It is flexible and easy to remove the popsicle without having to let it partially melt.
- beautiful shape on all sides.
- Allows you to use reusable sticks as well as disposable sticks.
- has a snap-on cover that keeps the stick straight and prevents spilling.
- Easy for kids to use.
- Easy to clean
Using Greek Yogurt
Feel free to use unsweetened Greek yogurt in place of unsweetened plain yogurt. The flavour will be different (of course) and the nutritional information may be slightly altered, but they should remain diabetic-friendly.
Fruit and Flavour Substitutions
Substituting other fruits in place of the strawberries is easy to do. Choose a low-carb fruit, such as raspberries, cherries or blackberries and then use a coordinating Sugar-Free Jello. For blueberries and blackberries, or other flavours use unsweetened Kool-Aid drink mixes.
Storing instructions
For best results store in individually wrapped in plastic wrap or use popsicle bags and then place in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.
